Both IQbuds2 MAX has a feature where specific settings in the earbuds are disabled until fitted into your ear.

The buds go into a "World Off" mode, and the touch sensors are disabled. This state will last for approximately 5 seconds, or until the buds notice they are in your ears.

The introduction of this setting prevents feedback occurring when fitting the buds into your ears.
