IQbudsTM features an unusual double pairing because we combine audio streaming capabilities (like a traditional Bluetooth classic headset) with App data control ( like a Bluetooth Smart fitness tracker). The double pairing is only required on iOS/Apple, however, the next App update we do will take away the double pairing and only require pairing your IQbudsTM.
The double pairing is needed so the App can "talk" to the buds. You can pair the IQbuds with any device without the App using a single pairing.
So in summary:
- there is no audio processing on the phone, it is all done in the IQbudsTM
- all settings are stored in the IQbudsTM and not the phone
- the App is simply the interface to set and control the IQbudsTM
- we have extended some of this control up to the IQbudsTM via tap touch so the phone doesn't have to be taken out all the time to answer calls, toggle locations, ask Siri, stop/start music etc.
